How many of the pastor wives remember the newsletter called “The Tie That Binds?”   It’s an

interesting read put together by Sara Marcis back in the early 1990s.  Her topics included

Situational Sharing, In Our Prayers, Bible Passages of the Month, Devotions, President’s

Corner and the Lighter Side.  The articles are well written with good advice.  Over and over

the emphasis is on the need for patience for a pastor’s wife.  Have you ever thought about

your pastor being on call all the time?  The wife is dealing with children, work, and even

teaching Sunday School and can’t always count on help from her pastor husband.  Various

pastor wives contributed to the newsletter with articles that are still timely today.  There are

only 5 issues but what treasuring words of wisdom are in here to read. The last issue

mentions an upcoming overnight District Wives’ R and R that was to be held in Bismarck in

October.  Thanks Sara, for the wonderful articles. The newsletters are preserved in our vault

at the District office.
