Lutheran Church Missouri Synod North Dakota District is blessed to have a staff who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our District Staff.

Rev. Arie D. Bertsch

District President

President Arie Bertsch attended University of South Dakota at Springfield and Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne. He was ordained June 21, 1998 and has served the congregations of St. John's Lutheran, McClusky, ND and St. Paul's Lutheran, Minot, ND. He has served the church at large as Circuit Visitor, North Dakota District Vice-President and as District President. He is married to Doris and they have two grown children.

Tami Ulland

Business Manager/LCEF ND Vice President


Tami grew up in rural Willow City on a farm, and attended Immanuel Lutheran Willow Creek where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She graduated from Willow City High School, North Dakota State School of Science (where she attained an AS in Computer Programming), and the University of North Dakota where she earned a BSBA in Business and the rights to belong to the “Sioux Forever!” club. Tami and her husband, Doug, have three grown children, and one grandchild. They live in Minto and attend Zion English Lutheran Church in Grafton. Previously, Tami worked for the City of Minto, Harriston Industries, and the State of North Dakota. She has worked for the LCMS North Dakota District since 2017. Tami’s favorite pastimes are reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and cuddling her grandchild.

Doris Bertsch

President's Administrative Assistant

Doris attended school in Mitchell, South Dakota at Mitchell Senior High.  She attends church with her husband Reverend Arie Bertsch at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Minot, North Dakota.  They have two daughters, Crystal and Virginia and five grandchildren - Levi, Lucy, Autumn, Demy and Ayla. Doris is a fan of fishing and hunting and she enjoys interior decorating, canning, tending to her garden, and baking in her spare time.  She is the administrative assistant to her husband President Arie Bertsch of the North Dakota LCMS district.

Diane Keating

Bookkeeper

Diane Keating was born in West Fargo and attended West Fargo High School.  She went on to graduate from Minnesota State Community and Technical college in Moorhead.  Diane spent 29 years of her employment at Solid Comfort, and moved into office work for the LCMS North Dakota district in 2023.  She is married to Tim Keating and has one son, Travis Keating, and a granddaughter named Halen.  She enjoys gardening, fishing, listening to audiobooks, and assembling puzzles in her free time.

Communications

Adrienne grew up in North Dakota and attended school in Rugby, Makoti, Minot, and Bismarck where she graduated high school from Century. She holds a cosmetology license and has an AA in Elementary Education from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. Adrienne has been a stay-at-home parent for 11 years to her and her husbands’ four children.  She works as a clerk for her fire department in Minto, ND, and is in her last year at UND studying Communications. It brings her joy to make communication easy and information exciting and accessible to all who have an interest in the LCMS North Dakota District.
