Lutheran Church Missouri Synod North Dakota District is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Rev. Mark Chepulis
President
Rev. Mark Chepulis grew up in Hardin, Montana, where he attended Redeemer Lutheran. After graduating from Hardin High School in 2000, he attended the University of North Dakota for a year and a half before transferring to Montana State University–Billings, where he graduated with a BA in music.
In 2006, he began his seminary studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served his vicarage at the dual parish of Pilgrim Lutheran–Quimby, Iowa, and Trinity Lutheran–rural Marcus, Iowa. He was called to Our Savior Lutheran–Cavalier, ND, and St. Paul Lutheran–rural St. Thomas, ND, and graduated from seminary in 2010. In 2013, began serving as the vacancy pastor at Redeemer Lutheran–Langdon. In 2015, the three congregations entered into a tri-parish agreement, and he was installed at Redeemer that same year.
He married Amy Sandhurst in 2009, and they have been blessed with four children: Katherine, Eli, Caleb, and Lucia. Rev. Chepulis enjoys spending time with his family, as well as tuning pianos when he has the time.

Tami Ulland
Business Manager
Tami grew up in rural Willow City on a farm, and attended Immanuel Lutheran Willow Creek where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She graduated from Willow City High School, North Dakota State School of Science (where she attained an AS in Computer Programming), and the University of North Dakota where she earned a BSBA in Business and the rights to belong to the “Sioux Forever!!” club. Tami and her husband, Doug, have three grown children, and one grandchild. They live in Minto, and attend Zion English Lutheran Church in Grafton. Previously, Tami worked for the City of Minto, Harriston Industries, and the State of North Dakota. She has worked for the LCMS North Dakota District since 2017. Tami’s favorite pastimes are reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and cuddling her grandchild.

Rev. Paul Preus
1st Vice President (Eastern Region)
One of Reverend Paul’s favorite things to do is raising his seven children with his wife Bethany. He also can be found shooting pool, reading, and enjoys hiking. Rev. Preus attended Racine Lutheran High school in his hometown of Racine, Wisconsin. He continued his education at colleges in Minnesota and graduated Seminary from Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary in St. Catherines, ON, Canada. He currently serves Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale, North Dakota.

Rev. Jonathan Walla
2nd Vice President (West Region)
Bethel Lutheran Church - Bismarck, ND
Rev. Walla enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and gardening among other outdoor activities. He will be happy if he can get outside with his wife, Niccole, and his four kids, Josiah, Natalie, Jason, and Nathaniel. He serves at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Rev. Walla is a Fargo native, attended college at Concordia in Nebraska, and finished his schooling in St. Louis at Concordia Seminary.

Rev. Dr. Adam Filipek
Board of Directors, Ordained (Vice Chairmen)
The Rev. Dr. Filipek and his wife Becky have four children, David, Miriam, Jacob, and Bethany. They are residing in Lidgerwood where he serves the congregations of Holy Cross Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran. He graduated high school in Burlington, attended Minot State, continued to Concordia Seminary, and finished his education with Doctor of Ministry at Concordia Theological Seminary.

Tom Langer
Chairman
Tom resides in Bismarck with his wife Stacey, where he attends Messiah Lutheran Church. The two have a daughter, Gabrielle. He grew up in Grand Forks, where he graduated from Sacred Heart High School and then the University of North Dakota. He makes his living as an actuary at Casualty Actuarial Construction. Tom loves spending time with his family and enjoys watching a good movie.

Rev. Daniel Voth
Secretary
Rev. Dan Voth is a graduate of Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN and has served his congregation at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Forks for over six years. He grew up in Red Wing Minnesota and went on to complete his understudy at the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point. He and his wife Crystal have a family of 4 children, Gustave, Lillian, Larz, and Gavin and 2 grandchildren, Theo and Silas. Pastor Voth previously served congregations in Minot, Milwaukee and rural Wisconsin.

Kay Kreklau
Treasurer
Kay, originally from Fordville, attended banking school and business college after she graduated from Fordville High. She currently resides in Drayton, North Dakota and attends church at Trinity Lutheran. Kay raised three children, Chris, Nicole, and Leah. She loves to follow her grandkids’ (Lexi, Trevor, and Paxton’s) events, enjoys gardening and reading a good book.
